Looking for a change in lifestyle, Lainey & Nick were presented with an opportunity to realise their dreams of running a small B&B whilst enjoying the finer things in life.
We have enjoyed creating a quiet, private cozy, comfortable place for you to stay (/play) in, furnished with many of our favourite touches, plus a range of arts and crafts from around the Dorrigo plateau.
The Bed…
The ‘guest suite’ is accessed via your own private courtyard with bench and table, perfect for a peaceful cuppa. A keyless-entry system allows easy access to your room and ensuite. You will find a super comfy Koala mattress on a king size bed, draped with linen sheets and doona cover. Mmm, crawling into linen at night is the BEST!!! Please bare in mind that linen sheets are crinkly by nature and not meant to be perfectly ironed and stiff as a board!! The more they are washed the softer and snugglier they become.
A kitchenette is hidden away in one of the huge cupboards, containing an air-fryer oven, microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster and a pod coffee machine with milk frother. Actually, the next best thing to crawling into a linen bed at night is waking up the next morning and having a yummy coffee while laying in said linen bed!! 🙂
For that home-from-home feel (or if you simply itching to catch the next episode in your current binge-list), you also have a smart TV with Netflix and Amazon Prime apps in your room, as well as access to our extensive library of Movies and TV Shows at your fingertips.
For the adventurous (or romantics), take your pick from our range of push-bikes (including an old Aussie Post bike, and a canary yellow Tandem!), grab a picnic, and take off to Dangar Falls (1km) or the Rain Forrest Centre (3km). Helmets and locks are provided.
And finally… we have a portable cot available in your room if you want to bring a little one. (No linen sheets in there though… and no Koalas!)
and Breakfast…
Currently we are both working full-time, so rather than throw together something sub-standard in the short time-frame we have, we have opted to provide you with a breakfast hamper of homemade yogurt, seasonal fruit, muesli, sourdough bread, milk and a selection of fruit preserves.
Alternatively, there are several eateries in the area.
and a few other bits too…
Guest Access
Private access leads through a small courtyard to your room. Under-cover parking is just outside.
Interaction with Guests
Your host will be available to welcome you and settle you in and help with any queries.
The Neighbourhood
Dorrigo is a small and quiet town with rural views.
Facilities in town include cafes, art galleries, retail shops, post office and places to enjoy an evening meal. There is a hospital and medical services as well as a vet.
The towns’ shops and cafes are an easy 10 minute walk away, as is the beautiful Dangar Falls where you can go for a picnic, swim and/or a walk around the labyrinth.
Getting Around
The only transport is by car, bike or foot. There are no taxi services nor public transport.
We have an eclectic selection of pushbikes you can choose from (yes, we even have a tandem!) to enjoy a ride out to Dangar Falls or beyond. We can provide you with a picnic if desired.
Climate
The weather in Dorrigo can be changeable, especially in Autumn and Spring. A piece of warm clothing will ensure your comfort.
The area has many natural attractions so good walking shoes are advised if you plan outdoor activities.
There are pets on the property: Ace the geriatric border collie who is an ex-sheep dog and super-friendly, plus two elderly cats, Esmerelda and Ebony (yes, he’s a black cat!)
